His ads were a fixture of late night television in California. I have absolutely no recollection of the shows being sponsored, but vividly recall the commercials; Actually looked forward to them; Even did the occasional live commercial.

Anyone, like me, who grew up in California absolutely knew Cal. His commercials were awesome. I remember them being on channel 44 (UHF) during the afternoon lineup of Green Acres, Gomer Pyle, Hogans Heroes and Beverly Hillbillies.
