What would have to happen for UConn and IU to play in a bowl game? That would lead to a few interesting threads!

FIFY

However, ppgdl would have screwed it up anyway.
It had nothing to do with competition and P made that clear with his comments after he was dismissed (said something along the lines of "we gave the kids they wanted the best shot"; I'm guessing they meant local coaches. This was after the biggest P apologist of all, Des Connor stated Lagow was the most advanced of the three freshman QBs (CC was a redshirt, RL & TB were true frosh). Somehow Lagow was behind everyone on the depth chart.

If P gave Lagow close to a fair shot he likely would has stuck around.

Lagow's susequent actions say differently.

I think you're right. I think he came from a pretty high level Texas HS program and realized the UConn coaching staff was not up to snuff. He told his dad (justwinbaby) and they pulled the plug and went home.

The kid also took a lot of judgemental crap from some people on this board. This was an 18 yr old kid who had a dream of playing QB for a big time college football program, just like he had with his 5A high school team in TX. My hat is off to him for never taking his eye off his dream, regardless of the obstacles and naysayers along the way. I'm happy for him and his family and wish him nothing but the best. He is also a RKG if you've followed him at all through social media over the past few years.

My apologies, I should have never posted. I was wrong. He was a teenager at the time, coached by 2 people who proved they were incompetent. I wish him nothing but the best. Mods please delete my previous post.

Amen bro. Always been a fan of Lagow. Did what was best for him.

I hated PP, but this is utter BS. Kid was here like a week and a half. How could anyone even know where he should be on the depth chart? I don't buy it. And even if he was behind some others after week 1, stick around and fight it out a little bit.

He should have been our starter for the past few years. But the two amigos couldn't see past the 06 zip code.
This is silly. They recruited him here. He didnt show up magically.

If I'm not mistaken Lagow felt mislead after another QB was recruited and committed after Lagow did.

Don't remember the other QB's name but I think he was gone after 1 year.

Rich came across an an entitled kid from a wealthy daddy, who I blame for all the hate from this board.

Here's hoping Rich does well and daddy Lagow has learned to be quiet.

The only thing I had a problem with was when the old man was on here insisting he was sick and couldn't send in the NLOI.

I totally get he would want to defend his kid, but don't post on the teams message board and then insult everyone's intelligence (as hard as that may be on here) and expect to not get called out on it.

As far as everything goes though, I hope the kid has an awesome season and great career. No ill will towards him or the situation with him leaving UConn.

No BS. Yes, his dad was a bit of a jerk but for what it is worth, I've been jerk when it comes to my kid more than once and I'm pretty confident I will be again.

That said, P was not about to give this kid a chance at moving ahead of Cochrane or Boys, regardless of what actually happened on the field of play.

Taylor came in when Lagow got cold feet.

The problem for Lagow was when Boyle changed his commitment from BC to UConn a few weeks before signing day. At that point, Lagow was probably like WTF.

If I remember right he was a huge backer of UConn once he verballed, then decided to take stock of the situation once Boyle came on board.

The stupid twins were simply awful at team building and player development. They had QB talent to work with Cochran, Nebrich, Lagow, Boyle and Whitmer. Those kids needed some time and a plan to develop and I just don't think PP had a plan and handed over the O to GDL who did just a miserable job.
