Never been disappointed by a meal at Abigail's in Simsbury.
More good news. Never been but I'm being taken there soon for my birthday. Not that many nice places open on a Monday it seems.

I was gonna suggest pick up a couple sixers of great beer, grab a Pepes or Sally's, and head out for a fun family night of axe throwing

Melvilles Fine Seafood in Boston.
Great reputation and there’s also a bar downstairs that’s owned by an ex MLB relief pitcher. Everyone knows everyone’s name in there.

My Husky is turning 21 this week. Looking for a recommendation for a relatively local restaurant to celebrate (think “fancy dinner” as opposed to “getting wasted”). Thanks!
My daughter turned 21 last Wednesday. Took her to Lansdowne at Mohegan Sun. Great atmosphere and really good food and service.

Hartford area I'd go with Zohara, UConn area I'd go with Willibrew or Bidwell

Feng Chop House was solid in Hartford. Hit it up a few weeks ago.
i got the worst food poisoning of my life from that place. it was either the kimchi fried rice or unagi sushi. it literally felt like someone was stabbing my stomach with a searing hot knife every 5 minutes for almost 2 full days.

Good to know. Haven't been since COVID and have a pre-Journey reservation.

Don’t stop believing

Going back to Feng, it has a cool decor and had great sushi. I'm imagine it still does. Sushi is fun on a birthday.

Who’s crying now?

The Beamhouse in Glastonbury. Pork belly is to die for, wood-fired pies, and great selection of craft beers.

Sole Proprietor, Near the Worcester, MA art museum. Great bar and seafood specialty, check it out on Trip Advisor. Just been renovated. About 1+ hr from Hartford, easy parking, nice old time feel. Been there recently, great place to meet someone or special occasion, might not fit a 21 year old unless they love seafood.

I used to cook at Mansfield Depot when I was at UCONN. Great place. Sorry to hear it burned down.
My Dad took me to dinner to celebrate my 21st at Mansfield Depot, if one of my sons goes to UConn will have to at least hoist a beer at the old site to commemorate.
