My remote broke, and the company that installed the unit two years ago is no longer in business. The company that took over said a remote cannot be replaced. I am told I have to replace the works to the tune of $300+.

There is no way that is true.

Any suggestions on how to replace the remote?

Where do you live? What brand is it ?I own a mobil electronics store, unfortunately I'm in florida . But a few of my former employees now own stores in ct. Normally you don't have to buy a new system, just a remote, sounds like a scam to me!

I'm sure I've noticed it before, but am seeing things just slightly different this morning after cataract surgery yesterday, and I love that avatar.
