As much grief as we give refs here this incident would have caused absolute armageddon here. You can't do this to kids. The video is long here is the article: Linky

By the way, Boise State lost in the 2nd overtime.

The shot didn't count after refs went to a stopwatch!:

Holy cow, that article. They used a slow-mo replay with an overlayed stopwatch going in real time to determine (incorrectly) that he didn't get the shot off in time. Rules, regulations and overtime results be damned, you HAVE to just overturn the result and give Boise State the W. Just a massive screw up by the officials.

The announcer says a 1/2 dozen times that the shot was good - no question about it.

Then, when the refs say no, the announcer say, "that's a good job by the officials. That is an excellent piece of officiating."

What a joke.

There is no way it took more that a small fraction of a second.

I know, how the hell can you watch that and think they could reverse it? I mean it was well out of his hand when the light on the backboard went off so no need for a stopwatch - shot was good and Boise got screwed.
