Total nail biter. Certainly a great series so far. Each game won by a single run. And pitching has ruled.

BoSox are getting some outstanding relief pitching. Not missing Papelbon. Can't wait til the hitters start hitting.
Go Sox!!

That sucks. Come on Detroit! You won the first, they won the next two... now you win the next three :)

Who wudda predicted we'd be talking about pitching duels. Yeah, I realize the second game went to 6-5, but two games with no-hitters after five innings, and last night it went 4 2/3.

It may be premature (only three games) and it is not the World Series, but there is a weird similarity (albeit in an upside down way) beween Detroit vs. Boston now and Yankees vs. Pirates in 1960 WS.

Tigers starting pitchers have been simply overwhelming in limiting hits and ringing up strikeouts yet their team is down 2-1.

In the '60 WS, the teams went into game 7 tied at 3 wins apiece. The Bucs had won by 6-4, 3-2, and 5-2. The Bombers (Mantle, Maris, Yogi, Skowron, etc.) had lambasted the Pirates by 16-3, 10-0, and 12-0 (cumulative 38-3). In other words, their slugging was as dominant as recent Detroit starting pitching.

But the payoff goes to the team that wins 4 games, not to the stats champs.

So let's see how this plays out. Could be interesting. Or become more interesting.

I have a feeling that you won't be seeing any 8 run games by either team. The pitching is too strong in the playoffs. Nasty stuff by the Detroit pitchers and a ton of strikeouts by the Sox batters. in 3 games, Detroit has scored 6 and Boston has scored 6. I'm not sure how many K's each team has racked up, but it's got to be a lot.

I am almost ready to forgive Lackey for the past three years.

Just almost? He was the one constant on the pitching staff for the entire year. The rest is all water under the bridge.

Intense game.
This was a huge win for the Sox for several reasons. They have regained home field advantage. They have guaranteed that they will be going back to Fenway. They have come away with wins against the Tigers best starters. Tazawa, Koji and Lackey were terrific.
