The Avicii threads rap conversation inspired this thread. Lets talk more rap, what did everyone think about J Coles new album?

Typical J Cole work, no club bangers but zero mumble rap I enjoyed it.

Sounded just like 4 Your Eyes Only. Makes sense since most of the album he wrote while on tour.

Friends, Window Pain, and 1985 sound different tho. I thought 2014 Forest Hills Dr. and 4YEO were better.

I really liked “1985” and “friends” but the production was weak to me. First 5 songs all sounded very similar and boring. Lyrically it’s better than anything else mainstream right now

I only listened to it 1x so far, and as backround music to Fortnite at that (so not paying super attention), but I actually enjoyed the production a lot on first take. We'll see if the opinion changes on further listening.

The rap album I have been listening to most recently, by far, is Brick Body Kids Still Daydream from Open Mike Eagle. What I am most excited for is King Push.
