OT - Question regarding car insurance, accident and Carfax

My 2011 Sonata, was recently hit and the car has 7k in damage. Other driver's insurance (Geico) paying for the repair. I heard that I might be able to get additional compensation from the Insurance Co. for the hit I would take in value when a Carfax is run should I ever decide to sell or trade the car in. Anyone know if it is worth pursuing something like this?

CT resident and accident occured in state.
