I read the Daily News article on Peyton's sexual assault and character assassination of former Tennessee trainer Jamie Naughright. It includes a pdf of the court documents. This paints both Peyton and Archie as pompous and vile people. I was skeptical before reading it but after reading it, with the witness statements it was pretty damning, to the Manning's and University of Tennessee.

This story is unbelievably old. Nothing new has come out about it. I have seen similar things posted on football message boards since the incarnation of football message boards.

I take it you never heard about that story prior to now. It is an old and known story and he got a pass from the media on it his entire career.
No I heard of the story before. I guess I just never read it in as much detail.

News from 20 years ago thanks.

If you were in the dark... welcome to 1996?

I guess the big issue now for the Manning's is that since Archie smeared her in his recent book she has new grounds to sue him. The payoff she received will no longer prevent her from telling her side. The Manning's are racist scum.

Would think could be scum and fit into NFL, hard to be racist scum and fit in.

Part of their smear campaign was to claim that she was going to the dorms and sleeping with multiple black men. Sound racist to me. It also contridicts their claim that she was a lesbian.

He did not get a pass. This was a big media story like 7 years ago. They ran him through the wringer. Now someone decided they didn't get enough blood from the stone, and they want to go after him again on it.

We will have to disagree on that. More than half the football fans i know didn't even know this incident happened.

Every real football fan I know knew about this. The bandwagon and casual fans may not have, but this was on ESPN and in papers for a good couple weeks.

I'm 27 years old. When this was in the news, I was in elementary school. I'm glad this is getting publicity now, there's an entire generation of football fans that have been shielded from the truth. I hope he never signs another endorsement.

So every 10 years we should just revisit stories to try and ruin people in the media. Got it.

"During the first call in September of 2015, which Tegano described to Outkick as "rambling, threatening and incoherent," Tegano said "I didn't know who was on the other line at first because the caller would not identify herself. She just kept saying, 'You know who this is.' Eventually she said it was her (Jamie Naughright). I can't recall the last time I had talked to her prior to this call, at least ten years ago. After three or four minutes I hung up on her."

This super stable chick certainly has no agenda here either, right?

Hey Jax, I didn't mean to outright endorse Naughright, just lament the fact that this guy is idolized in the media and this whole ugly story gets glossed over. Does it need to be headline news every 10 years? No, but it needs to be a part of the Peyton Manning story.

Peyton has certainly made a lot of mistakes in this, but let's not let Naughtright off the hook here. Her story evolved from getting mooned with no mention of physical contact in her 1996 signed affidavit, to getting sexually assaulted with a teabagging in 2003 'statement of facts'. Of course Peyton opened himself up to all of this by breaching confidentiality multiple times. In just the last 6 years, she's got 4 personal injury claims against public figures or businesses not named Peyton Manning. She's suing her way through life.

The real issue here in my mind is the school. Peyton did something wrong, the school should have punished him. Had that happened, it would have been over. Nobody would be talking about this 20 years later if it had been dealt with appropriately.
