Curious if anyone on The Boneyard knew him. 60 years old, sporting the Mr Clean hairdo in recent years.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. He died young. Prayers for family and friends.

Hans, A friend told me that someone had mentioned Dan on the Boneyard. I just joined to respond to you. Unfortunately, I do not know how to send a private message. Sorry if this is not appropriate. I was Dan's wife of 32 years. We have had UConn tickets for 30 of those years....so many wonderful memories. Dan and I went to the NIT Championship game and all of the Men's final fours ( I did not go to Houston) , 2 of the Women's final fours, and many Big East Tournament games. He was so hoping to go to the Final Four this year and take our 2 sons.
You are right - he was a gem of a guy. The kindest person I have ever known - and I lived with him!
He has stayed connected with a few KO friends - Burnsie (Jeff B) and Rosie (Dave R) have very much been a part of our live. Thanks for remembering him and your kind words.

I'm so sorry you lost your husband, 60 years is just too young to go. It sounds like you had 32 wonderful years with him, even though he is gone you will always have the memories and the love.

Very appropriate. The only thing inappropriate is that your husband died so young. Sorry to hear about your loss.

To my Boneyard cohorts -

I have connected privately w/Rravon, but wanted to share a bit more about Dan for the fanbase.

Back when we were at (then) Kingswood, the basketball team was in its early stages of integration. The most notable player, and a couple of classes before me, was Doc Hurley, Jr., whose dad was a Weaver schoolmate of my dad's. Danny Novarr was the son of another of my dad's classmates, but he was altogether different. He was a curly-haired, stocky Yeshiva graduate from the North End, and in his own way as unlikely an addition to the Kingswood basketball team as Nadav Henefeld was to UCONN during the Dream Season. Elsewhere, he has been eulogized as having had the grace of a dancing bear, and I compared some of his pirouetting up-and-under layups to a fullback plunge. As such, his game was more akin to that of Adrien maybe crossed with Inyatkin and somebody else I'll smack my head and recall after I post this. He was the glue guy on a team that lost in the Finals of its New England Prep School class to a New Hampton, NH team that sported a guy Ron [ ] who later made some D1 noise.

Sorry for your loss and Hans also……sounds like the Husky family lost a gem. My prayers are with you and your family, friends
