What a surprise.

I wonder if we need to send down some staff to UNC to learn a thing or two about damage control. A player of ours get caught with weed and it's national news - then it comes out a day later he also kills baby seals in his spare time.

UNC player has weed, guns and a new SUV and he will most likely get a parade and there will be a story about how he was able to avoid the bad elements in his life for so long overcome them and play ball. It's a joke.

A few brief points:

1. UNC Story is national news, probably equivalent to the coverage we would get at UConn, if not more.
2. First time offender weed charges are typically dropped after arrest and have been in the past with UConn players if I'm not mistaken.
3. The gun issue is concerning, but if that charge was given to someone else in the car, I'm not sure the public would know about it.
4. Its only illegal to drive around in a SUV rental paid for by someone else in the eyes of the NCAA, so that is unresolved.

Shocking

Now, we just need the NCAA to either declare (before the 1st UNC exhibition game) that they found no violations regarding the Hairston situation or never make any comment about this at all.

Dropped as expected. Did drug consoling and provided a valid driving licence. However the real issue is if the NCAA looks at the rental car as extra benefits. The legal issue was never going to be a problem. He got the same deal you or I would have gotten in NC.

Clarity on why no gun charge - http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebask...762489613_114132320_709051075791015#f3245145f and rental car conundrum.

And he will be re-instated the night of midnight madness!

This kid isn't quite at Hernandez's level on the athlete stupidity scale....but give him time.

His life shouldn't be ruined because he smoked some weed. This doesn't mean he won't get punished by the school.

Well as long as every student has equal access to guns, weed and SUVs it really is an academic issue not an athletic issue.

NC players basically can get into as much trouble as they want. I get the feeling the basically go with the "It's only bad if you get caught" approach to things down south.

Hey, at least on his 3rd time getting pulled over in 2 months, he did not have weed or a gun in his car.... And it wasn't a Camero or Lexus from a convicted felon. It was only a Acura and only 28 miles above the speed limit, so he's improving. Next month is will only be 19 miles above the speed limit.

Yeah he'll slow down to only 19 miles above the speed limit because of the kilo of smack he'll have under the spare tire!!;)

I've not heard who's vehicle it was this time. I'm sure it will come out in time. Hopefully not another felon, but you never know.

I'm sure NBA front offices are interested too...
