Looking for some suggestions from the boneyard. Thinking I should be able to find a decent propane 48,000 BTU unit in the $150-200 range. Assuming that 2 of these should be enough for a 150-200 sq ft area. Thanks.

In true Boneyard spirit I recommend the Solo Stove Bonfire, by far our best quarantine purchase so far:

I have one in a box that I've never used. Make me an offer.

This is how I heat my patio. I live near the flight path for one of the Danbury Airport approaching runways and I've had the local FD show up at my house twice because pilots reported night time brush fires.

It's a beautiful stone fire pit but the worst investment I've ever made. Way too big and I've maybe utilized it a dozen times in as many years. Definitely go with a smaller fire pit, propane heaters or a heavy coat.

This is sweet. Wood burning and deck safe?

I’m looking for a cheaper grass surface safe portable wood pit if anyone has ideas or recommendations.

Yes, it is wood burning and deck safe when used with the stand (as shown in the picture). The stand is just a separate stainless steel ring that doesn’t conduct heat from the fire pit. My deck is composite (and in need of cleaning—tomorrow) but it would also be fine on wood. When it is going the sides are hot to the touch but you can be an inch away and be fine.

The screen will rip the flesh off your hand instantly when it’s hot and you will learn that lesson exactly once, even if drunk.

It’s been a big hit with the whole family and the few guests we’ve hosted on our deck while distancing. I’ve been a pyromaniac since I was a kid so I am only too happy to oblige. It is fully portable and weighs 20 lbs. Comes with a tote bag and could easily be brought to a tailgate. We plan to bring it on vacation to use on the deck of our rental beach house.
