Interesting solution to a problem.

@Deadspin: To buy out failed coach, Southern Miss sold home-field advantage back to Nebraska for $2.1 million: deadsp.in/qs4wzKu

Its a brilliant move by USM.

Once we play Michigan and Maryland our program is bascally irrelevant anyway, why not get paid for it?

Lost me there?

Just saying that these are the last decent OOC game (except Tenn) were going to see on our schedule seeing as we are now viewed as "irrelevant" in a dying conference. The Michigan game is most likely our last chance to negotiate anything moving forward, so why not get paid for it? Just a rant thats all.....
Its becomming more painful to accept that we are stuck in the land of the misfit toys, formerly known as the Big East!

I'm not willing to concede that UConn is irrelevant. It's a mid set. We need to be flexible (take off the high and mighty blue colored lense glasses) and build the highest quality OOC schedule as possible.

Your correct, but with no leverage you have no chance at a home and home with any school that is worthy of creating the buzz and excitment we desperately need at this point. Just look at what we've scheduled before this mess started in the last two years... NOTHING! Just sayin.....
