Grambling has a proud tradition, but if things are really that bad financially, they should close shop on the program/athletics.

Reading that letter, maybe skipping more games and hitting some classes is a good idea...

Why do you? They still see the guy as their legitimate head coach. It makes sense that they reached out to him.

And if he did orchestrate it, then good on Doug.

My sense is he has been guiding them through DJ from start to finish (especially when he said on Friday if he snapped his fingers - they would have played).

This was about more than dirty uniforms and walls. There has been a running political battle between the University President and Doug Williams (which got DW canned) and I think the kids were used as pawns in a personal battle.

But hey - if it gets them some sugar daddy infused money for deserved Gatorade, new weight benches and other basic team needs - good for them - well played. Not sure it will have a positive impact on the other teams on campus who are also struggling though.

Yeah, Doug Williams was angry because he and his staff weren't paid bonuses owed to him, and the school was pissed because he found the funding to fix the weight room floor on his own.

None of this speaks well for Grambling,

Muscle Milk @MuscleMilk

Hey @gramblingfb, 384 cases of #MuscleMilk Collegiate are heading your way. Finish the season strong #GiveMeStrengthtwitter.com/MuscleMilk/sta…

Wow...

Dear Sirs at Louis Roederer,

Our football team has not had champagne in the locker room to celebrate victories in the last two years. A few cases of your Cristal champagne would be greatly appreciated and might even appear in pictures of locker room celebrations.

Your friend,
Donna Shalala
