I find it odd that they cut ties already. He was very successful at Wisconsin before he packed his bags (citing it was too hard to recruit players there due to the high academic standards) for the Oregon State job.

The beat guy who wrote the last two articles lays it out pretty well... there’s always an outside chance something bizarre comes out down the road that changes the narrative but it seems to have been building and he walked and didn’t string out his friend the AD or the school. Some people are just wired different than others.

They should have paid him $1-$2 million, called it an undisclosed settlement and everyone would be happy. This is the worse outcome - people are always going to assume the worse.
