OT: Northwestern's new football facility

UConn's football facilities are just as good. We just don't have the million dollar view of the great lakes.

Thing is ridiculous. Now if they can ever get past those pesky SAT requirements, they might be on to something

Strawman much?

Nobody pines for the Big East for any other reason than the Big Ten or ACC ain’t calling.

Are you postulating that UConn is a future candidate for the Big Ten? For real?

What part of P5 don't you understand?

Can you please make sense?

What does Northwestern’s TV deal have to do with UConn’s conference affiliation.

Other than you’ve invented people who would take the Big East over Big Ten.

You're losing your mind.

You're inventing things that were never said. Who said Northwestern's TV deal will impact UConn's conference affiliation? You're deranged.

also big time donors: $23MM + $15MM + $40MM. UConn's only ever had one donor at that level.

"In support of the project, Northwestern Athletics and Recreation recently received a new leadership gift of $23 million from University trustees Kimberly K. Querrey and Louis A. Simpson as part of We Will. The Campaign for Northwestern.

The lakefront athletics facitlies will include a fieldhouse that will provide a large, indoor multipurpose facility for football practice as well as Olympic sports team practices and competitions, recreational activities and non-sporting events. It will be named Ryan Fieldhouse in honor of the generosity of alumni Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan. The playing surface within Ryan Fieldhouse will be named Wilson Field in honor of a $15 million gift from alumni Stephen R. and Susan K. Wilson.

The facilities also will include the Walter Athletics Center, a state-of-the-art building that will house academic support services for more than 500 student-athletes, a nutrition center and dining facility, a sports performance center, and office space for coaches and administrators. The building is being named in recognition of a $40 million gift from alumni Mark and Kimbra Walter."

8 bowl games in the last 10 seasons. Top 25 ranking 3 of the last 6 seasons.

Ok - I’m dealing with a crazy person. You are the lunatic that brought up the Big East

Your OP is an argument against the voices in your head. Because there is nobody in the world who would pick the Big East over a P5 league.

You always do this, to everyone on this board. Your incredible difficulty reading and understanding things leads to cocked up posts like yours.

LOL ok buddy. Maybe start with an OP that makes sense and we can go from there.

You do this constantly. Everyone else understood what I wrote.

P5 or nothing. Pretty basic. How do you get through life?

That was your point? Insightful - I hadn’t thought of it.

This facility is a product of their alumni, not P5 money. Pretty nice looking, I must say.

Northwestern's alumni make ours look like CCSU right now. Northwestern is probably at least 100 years ahead of UConn when it comes to alumni.

We were fortunate that someone had the sense to build the practice facility when times were good.

Imagine if we didn't have them? We at least are on par with p5 schools with ours.
