Marshall needs portal more than any other program this year.Marshall brought in multiple portal qb's so he has some fighting to do.

Honestly…I didn’t see a lot of QB skills out of Turner. He did a good job of playing within himself...but that’s about it. I thought Roberson showed much more potential.
We can agree to disagree. I probably should have qualified my statement by saying as a True Freshman he showed some pretty good skills. He had a decent arm and I thought pretty accurate. He also was fast when he ran although not as elusive as we would have liked. As you may remembered our receiver group was hit hard by injuries that year. One of the starters for most of the year was a walk on. I didn’t think he should replace Roberson after Roberson slow start on 2023 but many here did. Going through his reads in real time was definitely holding him back. Maybe, Zion will not do any better at Marshall but some players do develop after their freshman year. We shall see.I agree. Turner showed some leadership and moxy. But QB skills, not so much. Wish nothing but good things for the young man, but we’ll see.
Kid signed a revenue sharing agreement with Wisconsin, asked to transfer because of a family illness, Wisconsin refused to allow him into the portal because of the revenue sharing agreement, so the kid dropped out and enrolled at Miami. Here is a new twist on all this. Let's see if this becomes a thing.
Former Wisconsin DB Xavier Lucas leaving school for Miami without entering transfer portal in a groundbreaking move

It's not clear they own his rights. The House settlement hasn't been approved yet. And besides, what's to stop Miami from paying him out of revenue share anyway? The NCAA just told both schools that it has no control over the situation and will consider him eligible to compete for the 'Canes.Kid signed a revenue sharing agreement with Wisconsin, asked to transfer because of a family illness, Wisconsin refused to allow him into the portal because of the revenue sharing agreement, so the kid dropped out and enrolled at Miami.
The real key here is at that the NCAA said "“NCAA rules do not prevent a student-athlete from unenrolling from an institution, enrolling at a new institution and competing immediately."
So -- why exactly do we have a transfer portal? And why exactly do we have an NCAA?
Meanwhile Wisconsin has the NIL rights to the kid who is going to get paid to play in Miami.

Essentially what happened here was Wisconsin threw down a pair of aces and Miami countered with a Royal Flush.
Also nothing prevents him being paid via deals set up by the Hurricane collective.
Miami just exposed and simultaneously eviscerated the myth of the transfer portal. Basically they proved that it does not exist.
And this is great for UM. The return of the evil renegade empire is WELL overdue.
Meanwhile, at Wisconsin's recruiting office....
Tampering and tortious interference inbound! We all knew the genie was out of the bottle, and it wasn’t going back. I don’t know if anybody knew how powerful and destructive the genie would be. This mess is just heating up! Stay tuned. Wow.
Technically the contract issue is between Wisconsin and the ncaa. As far as the courts care, it's likely legalIt's all legal talk now. Wisconsin says this contract is enforceable, the kid's lawyer says it isn't because it is subject to NCAA rules which currently don't permit schools to directly pay players as it all actually hasn't gone into effect.
I would imagine that all gets resolved, but it's the transfer portal part that I really wonder about. Is this going to mean that a kid can leave at any time to go to another school?
How is it between the school and the NCAA? None of it has even been approved to go into effect yet, right? I honestly don't know, so that is why I am sort of curious to see how it plays out.Technically the contract issue is between Wisconsin and the ncaa. As far as the courts care, it's likely legal
Because it's an ncaa violation which has its own rules, ones that don't involve a federal court. Lack of NCAA permission doesn't invalidate the contractHow is it between the school and the NCAA?
