UVA Football coach Tony Elliott picked up a nice speed option at wide receiver from the transfer portal on Monday, in the form of Cam Ross, late of JMU.

My first reaction is…how was he a 4 star? My second is…i still can’t believe he fumbled and didn’t try to recover. My third reaction is…I hope he finds happiness and success,

He wasn’t a bad dude…just didn’t work out.

Because he signed with Penn State. Being a "dual threat" also tends to help because the ranking guys love it for some reason.

Turner's journey is similar to Roberson since UConn. Neither played much last year at Jax State and K State respectively and now both are on to new schools.

The rankings are a projection of how someone could develop in college. They can’t account for injuries, egos, or kids starting in the wrong place and having their development stunted.

We only think they’re accurate when we pick up a 4 star.

Whatever "it" was, he lost it during the Covid year. "It" certainly wasn't avoiding sacks.

Looked him up and he was supposedly turning heads at the CFL combine last March. But he didn’t get drafted, so I guess those heads didn’t turn quite enough.

Clercius was actually the 13th pick in that draft and had a solid rookie season in Winnipeg.

I can see Roberson doing pretty well at Buffalo. I would be more interested in seeing what Turner does at Marshall. After Joe went down with a season ending injury in 2023 and Roberson struggled in the first couple of games as his replacement many here thought we should have gone to Turner. As a freshman he showed a lot of skills as a quarterback but had trouble going through his reads which was not surprising for a freshman. Maybe at Marshall he will have big breakout year.
