The first 10,000 fans in attendance on Dec. 23 will receive commemorative Whalers Night posters.

So, there will be plenty posters left over should anyone want one.

The Carolina Hurricanes Foundation will auction select game-worn sweaters and other Whalers items on Dec. 23, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Learn to Play Program at the Champions Skating Center in Hartford, CT, owned by former Whaler Bob Crawford.

Just such a bizarre euphoria to see a live, current photo of a person in that uniform again. What could have been. And a reminder of how much I miss that team.

My best memories w/ my father and as a kid were probably at Whalers games. I was a Whalers guy before UConn, really. Just a totally weird feeling.

I loved The Whalers. Knew several players from my days being involved with The Connecticut Chasers (Special Hockey Organization) and the guys were all class acts. Hate the Carolina Hurricanes, more than even the Bruins.
