Navy is affiliated with the ACC schools for rugby. And we are in BC's conference. UConn and the ACC schools are 1-AA in rugby.

These are all clubs, so there really is no D1 or D1AA. In any given year, a D3 team can romp the best team in D1.

The NFL might be better served thinking about getting rid of helmets and all that armor than moving into rugby. The thought crossed my mind that the NFL might be concerned about the future of the sport, given injuries.

Rugby hits are not nearly so vicious.

The problem with that thought is that gridiron football is still growing in popularity around the world. It is a very different style of play compared to rugby football, obviously, even though they are related.

As much as I like Rugby, You'll never see UConn play it at the RENT. The authorities won't let you bring beer kegs into the grandstands.

They are hedging against the downside of U.S. football and head injuries.
