Hello Boneyard family,

Practice Squad announcements cannot officially be made until 24 hours have elapsed from the point of waiver release. I'm trusting you guys to keep this info on the down low.

Sportsart,

I was doing some reflecting Thursday as I was reading the results of the debacle against Towson. I remembered the mood following that 1st away game under our new coach, where we let one get away. It should have been obvious to anyone familiar with UConn football of the previous 2 or 3 years, or anyone with knowledge of the game of football in general, that the program as we knew it was doomed for disaster. I remembered shaking my head as I waited for Kash and the team to exit the visitor's locker room. I said to another son "this program is in serious trouble now". The team didn't require a complete rebuild. There were too many upperclassmen to do that. Now here we are today. What an unnecessary destruction of a once proud and winning program. We were slowly building momentum. It didn't have to be. SMH

You bring up a point I hadn't thought of. The men who worked their a.sses off for the 10 years before PP must be feeling more pain than we ever could.

I want so much for our guys to pull off the great turn around and will be at the MD game getting loud. I want them to win for themselves and no one else. Thanks for stopping bye.

Can you help enlighten the board in regards to practice squads?

If I am recalling correctly they get a paycheck for each week they are on the squad.

And can be called up by their team to the active roster or claimed by another team for their roster but can't go to another team's practice roster.

If they're called up their pay is prorated at the rookie minimum on a per game basis.

Hey Chin,

Your memory serves you well. A member of the practice squad is paid the weekly amount of $5700. A player can be activated to the 53 man roster by the team he's currently under contract with or by any of the other 31 NFL teams. If called to the active roster the team is required to keep the player active for a minimum of 3 games.

I have changed my mind.

We did go out of our way to keep the Edsall structure - including the majority of the staff. We didn't go for an overhaul. We tweaked. We trimmed. We largely kept Edsalls last class. I thought that was important.

PP & his guy GDL is just the pits ... In this modern era. I see Foley & I feel he's totally misused. Hughes does a decent job. Woolley grows. But, I firmly believe that Hathaway wimped out & took what he saw as a less risky choice.

I'm for radical redo now. Get the Coordinator of the Patriots - Patricia or McDaniel. Find a young Jim Mora or Bill O'Brien. We've got a formula sure ... We need solid coaxing, coaching & Program building again.

Krugs17,
It may take a few days. Have to move someone to injured reserve first in order to free up a spot. It's a numbers game.

RIght back to the PS if you get called up b/c Doc says somebody's sick though! LOL.

Seriously though, I knew the kid would hang in. With the the thursday night games in the NFL - he'll be playing a regular season games. I think.

Was really glad to look up at a TV showing Steelers-Giants a few weeks ago and see who was running back kickoffs. Thought he had a good shot based on how early he was playing. Glad they kept him.
