Mmm hmm. He managed to grab the slickery wet tongue and hold on to it while the bear "hit him with his claws"? Unless it was a bear cub playing rough and tumble with him, ain't no bear I know of that hits you with it's claws and doesn't kill you dead at the same time.

Reminds me of some wise advice I read once, from a Smokey Mountain Ranger - "The most basic rule of survival in any situation is never look like food."

However, grabbing a bears tongue? In my experience here on the BY, grabbing a bears tongue does not stop them from blabbering on and on and on anyway.
