A lot of vitriol on the board lately, so i thought I'd post something not directly related to basketball.

I thought I was going to enjoy Alcatraz and/or River, but I watched a couple of episodes and I just couldn't get into either. I also thought I was going to enjoy Luck, but it started to fizzle out and they cancelled it.

I've started watching Awake, and it seems kind of good so far(much fewer horses dying on this show). It's at least something slightly different than the average fare. They've set up a nice premise, but I'm not really sure where it's going to go though. Any shows new shows you guys have found enjoyable or particularly dreadful?

Not new but current - Archer is hilarious. If you've only seen one episode and thought it was meh, just watch a couple more. Ridiculously funny.

Archer is indeed pretty good. Although as it turns out even with subtitles it's confusing to adults who don't understand English well. It seems like there might be a good story to go along with what I just said; there isn't it's just experience.

We have the same taste in TV shows. Watched a couple episodes of Alcatraz and The River but could not get into it. They dumbed them down too much I think. Awake is pretty good so far. Justified and Walking Dead are really good but almost done this season. Can't wait for Game of Thrones to start.

'Touch' had a good teaser. Show starts this week. Story line is intriguing, but it was odd to see Jack Bauer get punched in the gut and not blow up a bus.

Alcatraz is lame, Touch seems lame, The River is lame.

I'm a little intrigued by Awake. I don't need anything THAT more special than a good police procedural, and I think Awake provides atleast enough to pay attention for 6 weeks. I just hope it doesn't get canceled after 4.

I would also recommend that you watch every episode of Breaking Bad. Please ask me any question about this show because I am obsessed with it.

Another recommendation for Archer. The jokes come at a machine gun fire pace and some of them make Family Guy "over the line" stuff seem like Dora the Explorer.

Great cast for Awake; not sure where they can go with the premise. There was a hint of some type of cover-up involving his lieutenant. Alcatraz seems to follow the popular trend now - have a show with a "concept" - in this case prisoners returning from the past - reveal a little bit of it each week, and fill the rest with a procedural of the week. Pretty disappointed with Luck - you more or less have to be a race track insider to know what the hell's going on half the time, and Milch's bizarre dialogue is no longer quaint. Oh well, it's history now.

The two most interesting shows we've watched lately - both on demand - were Homeland and Boss. Terrific jobs by both Claire Danes and Kelsey Grammar. Can't wait for the new season of Game of Thrones. Also think Southland is very well done.
