anyone catch the new 97.9 ESPN and 1410 Fox Sports?

1) The only thing worse than the sound of Paul Manos, is waking up to the sound of Paul Manos.
2) Haven't caught the afternoon shows yet, are they local or national broadcast? Which one's better? Any UConn love?
3) Is it just me or does the new ESPN frequency sound real weird? theres like an echo or something.

So far the fm has been disappointing, weak signal and the shows sound weird with the higher fidelity. I have only listened to a few minutes of the "local" afternoon show, it seemed very generic. Manos continues to be unlistenable on the am dial.

I'll take the Bower show over Paul Nanos any day. At least Bower realizes UConn exists and was talking UConn hoops during the BE tourney. He was even broadcasting live from NYC.

Each am I take Rt 80 from Madison to Essex each day and the signal is bad. It comes in as half latino and half sports talk.

97.9 comes in much better in the Manchester area than the 1410 signal did.... what I've heard of the Bower show in the afternoon so far I've liked.

The new afternoon show on 1410 could be the worst radio show ever.

Doesn't it air from LA? They were talking about the PAC-12 tourney last week while I was driving home from work.

Same situation in Waterbury. I've stopped trying.

Heard the new Bower show last week a little... barely any UConn talk and when there was, it was very generic. Guy he was talking to knew nothing too. Whats the point of doing a show from the BE tourney when you don't talk about it?

But all ESPN radio is awful. I can't stand the constant sell.

Love having Dan Patrick on 1410, he rips ESPN all the time, not the mention the show is really good. Jim Rome I could do without.

Bower is decent and a step up from Mantos who was horrible. Thankfully I don't have to listen to him in the afternoons any longer.

I like Bower and havent had any problem with the 97.9 reception in the Hartford area.
I really enjoy Dan Patrick, but hate Jim Rome.

For those saying that ESPN has zero good programming, do you not listen to SVP? Stu Scott on tv and SVP on the radio are the two most talented men at ESPN in my opinion and I love listening to him in the afternoons at work.
Mike and Mike are garbage.

haha... but they are my garbage... I can't start my morning without tuning in. :)
I listen every morning too, just always find myself wondering WHY

love boomer and carton, it just sucks this time of year they talk nba all morning
