OT: NCAA womens volleyball playoffs

Sweep. Zero doubt about who the better team was today.

The number of teams winning their first Championship has increased drastically in the last 5 years or so. Pretty cool instead of seeing the same 'ol same 'ol every year.
Thought I read that a player for TAMU had considered medically retiring due to concussions while playing for another team. If that's correct, that's another cool happy ending to go with this championship.

Yes, Stowers was a really good Fr. at Baylor a couple years ago. I think the school retired her medically, it wasn't a personal choice. A&M gave her another chance.

Huh. A&M has 9 Seniors. So this is a magical season for them, but it will almost undoubtedly be a one off.
I do not think so. I think this coach is the real deal. I mean he just coached a team to a national championship in his third season at a school that had never even been to a final before. He may need a little time to rebuild the roster.

Fair enough. Yes he did an excellent job and coaching matters a lot. But they had a special group that had been together since club volleyball, it's going to be really hard to replace that nucleus. Stowers is back and she's a big gun, but there are a bunch of important players to replace. I'm not saying they will just disappear, but I don't see a run like this happening again any time soon.

It will be fine with me if you are right. After all, I’m a Texas fan.

If I’m a transfer I’d 100% want to go to A&M. You’d get his coaching plus get ample playing time and play in the SEC. I think next year will be a rebuild but he’ll make them competitive for years to come.

Great season by Kentucky but sort of a damaging legacy moment for Skinner IMO. He made no adjustments and looked disinterested all match. Their freshman setter was badly struggling and they didnt switch out for the backup who initially won the starting setter role. Pretty much every great coach has some head scratching moments like that but to see Kentucky completely fold today, staff included, was unexpected.
