OT- NBA free agency

The Mitchell rumors are heating up again. Leon Rose might have leverage here, no one can offer more 1st rd picks then the Knicks.

Brunson and Mitchell would be fun to watch but damn that's a tiny backcourt.

Ya would be fun to watch but I question how their defense would be. Jazz want RJ Barrett lol not happening.

The trade talks on this look way too public, to get a deal reached for now anyways. ESPN doesn’t care about baseball so we’ll hear about these rumors till NFL training camps open, by that time I see a deal being reached, maybe September when these Mitchell trade rumors are not a lead story.

I don't think they want him. He doesn't fit their timeline if they're blowing it up and starting over since Barrett is due to get a near-max extension next summer.

.-.
FWIW, Mitchell's wingspan is 6'10"
I know and he's explosive and really strong but he's only 6'1.25" and Brunson is 6'1"

That's tiny for an NBA backcourt. Great scoring duo but will probably cause all sorts of defensive problems. I would do the deal because the Knicks are always waiting around to get a great player and they never actually do but they better not get fleeced by Ainge like the T'Wolves did.

Both sides got exactly what they were hoping for out of this trade. It may work out for both teams, or it may work out for neither of them, but it was a fair deal.
Hope he and Myles can still play Legos and Star Wars together

I expected to be disappointed the Knicks didn't get Mitchell but after seeing this return, I'm good

You think that's too much? Steal for the Cavs imo, Garland/Mitchell/Allen/Mobley is must watch TV next year.
For the Knicks yeah, too much. Cavs had a lot more depth to deal from so are still a good team and like it for them. If the Knicks had to move 3-5 1sts and Fournier, Grimes, Barrett (rough guess at equivalent players) I'm not sure how much better of a team they'd be this season

.-.
LeVert off the bench?
Should be the case, Okoro should start at SF for defense. Levert is unreliable health-wise and looked shook on the court in the play-in games

I’m good with this Leon Rose wasn’t gonna bend over for Ainge. This upcoming draft is expected to be deep.

It turns out the Jazz wanted him. They wanted RJ, Obi, IQ and 3 unprotected 1st rd picks. Did Ainge think Isiah was still the Knicks GM lol.

Cavs gonna be good. I think they are 4th in east now.

Celtics, bucks, 76ers, Nets (if they do stay together), Cavs is my guess.
Miami takes a step back, Toronto, hawks and chicago. Wow. What a league.

I agree, i'm glad the Knicks didn't cave in. This also shows that Dolan is no longer involved and the Knicks are now being run by competent people. Star chasing doesn't always work out, just ask the Nets, and it was highly questionable that Brunson and Mitchell would complement each other. I'm looking forward to watching this young Knicks team develop now that they finally have a point guard.

.-.
I'm glad our FO stood their ground. It would have been the Carmelo situation all over again.

The Jazz sure went through a lot of trouble to make sure they can draft Jordan Hawkins with the #1 pick next year

Whoever gets the best player wins the trade.
