I wouldn’t call it highway robbery by the Celtics, they’ve been trying to trade brogdon for a month and nobody would take him because of Medicals, presumably you are the first team to offer a first round pick for him. Good deal for both sides

Honestly think Leon Rose has done a good job given the circumstances who he has to work under. At least there seems to be a plan.

Any move the Knicks make is gonna be the wrong move if Brunson wasn’t signed and Mitch was let go that would be the wrong move too, that’s the reputation this franchise has earned until they prove it.

1 - is this an actual proposal from the Knicks or did you just throw it out there?

2 - Would this work salary wise? I know Fournier has a pretty hefty contract but Mitchell likely is far beyond that. Will two guys on first contracts be enough to bridge the gap?

I threw it out there- hard to say believe it or not Mitchell is only making 30M a year- Fournier/Reddish/Toppin are at 29M- the other guy I was thinking you might have to put in there is Rose at 14M or Quickley at 2M.

Also- the Jazz really have no one else to put in a trade besides maybe the guys they got from yesterday from Minnesota to make the money work.

The other thing that was just released was Utah really wanted Jaden McDaniels from Minnesota but the Twolves did not want to trade him so that was the main reason they received so much draft capital.

With that said- if the Knicks were to trade Toppin, Quickley, & or Reddish maybe the draft capital is not as much.
 
Starting 5 for the Knicks would be pretty tough if they were able to land Mitchell;

  • R.J. Barrett
  • J. Randle
  • M. Robinson

Probably the best since the 99’ for the Knicks.

Jazz got 4 1st rd picks for Gobert, Ainge doesn’t do deals until he feels he’s won the trade. Don’t turn this into a Melo deal giving up all your assets, I say you hold off at least till the Jazz asking price goes down, would help if Donovan Mitchell is all in on NYK tying Ainges hands basically saying deal me or I walk. Leon Rose cannot give in and listen to impatient idiot fans like Stephen A Smith. This is why I’m glad he doesn’t speak to the media.
 
Plus, I thought the Jazz wants to build around Mitchell.

All I’m saying is why jump on the first offer. Knicks are very much in a rock and a hard place if Knicks pull the trigger media will say they overpaid, if they don’t trade for him it’s well this why the Knicks suck, whereas a team like the Heat are geniuses either way. Of course that’s the reputation the Heat have earned and the Knicks havent.

You would think Leon will survey the scene until he would sign off on a deal, it will very much be a game of chicken.
 
Mitchell currently at the Mets game- Knicks need to make it happen….this is the guy you don’t worry about the picks….

As a Pacers fan I can assure you this wasn’t highway robbery. Pacers wanted to get rid of Brogdon for 2 years. He’s always hurt. When he’s healthy he can’t even play back to backs. Good luck

I still think Nesmith will be a very good NBA player. Lights out shooter in college and practice. Turned into a ++ defender. Star potential still.

Need to get rid of Myles Turner next and start fresh. Guy has hardly improved since being drafted and is allergic to rebounding, dribbling, passing, and posting up. He gets bodied too

Plenty of bigs can average 12/6 and block shots, hopefully he isn’t a Pacer next season

Agreed on Turner. He’s pretty average offensively but defensively he’s right up there with Rudy Gobert. His blocks per game are incredible.
 
Kyrie to the Lakers for Westbrook? This would be totally absurd which means it's probably going to happen. How do the Lakers constantly get bailed out by other teams and how does Lebron get bailed out like this?

I thought this trade proposal was a joke when I first read it and it's being reported all over the place they're far along in talks.

What dont you get? Nets in full rebuild. Some are hinting they will send Kyrie attached with Joe Harris. Its a salary dump since Westbrook and Kyrie are both on expiring deals and Harris has multiple years left at almost 20 per.

It's not a salary dump for those two players, they would be getting rid of Kyrie's huge salary for 1 year and they would be taking on Westbrook's second highest salary in the league for 1 year. Kyrie is a million times better than Westbrook. Kyrie is a pain in the arse but you're actually supposed to get serious value back when you trade one of the best players in the league. Somehow the Lakers always get rewarded in one sided trades.

Lakers reportedly want Seth Curry instead of Joe Harris. Hell, the Lakers should demand the Nets throw in Durant while they're at it.

The salary dump is Harris. I agree, if they throw in curry it doesn’t make as much sense.

Just because he didn't fit with your team doesn't mean it wasn't a great deal for the Celtics. Boston's trying to win a title and they just got a fantastic player for a bunch of scrubs and a late 1st.
