Nice. Great feeling when your kids live up to - or exceed - the many family/community values you work to instill in them when they were growing up. A cause for celebration, indeed. Nice job for her and your family.

Great stuff Stinger. You must be very proud! Thanks for sharing.

Excellent.

Okay, Saglimbene, what nationality is that?

Based on his last name, not only am I going to say Italian, but I'm going to say that he is a fellow Sicilian! Am I right, Stinger??

Good for her (...and for you!)

THanks Stinger. Lost my Mom to breast cancer 20 years ago. Your daughter is contributing to a great cause. Her good work reflects her parents good work. Well done!

Spot on Dan!!! When I was young, grew up in Bridgeport, I recall my grandfather sitting me down and explaining to me that I was not Italian. It was a very serious moment for him. Funny stuff to me.

Thanks to those asking to contribute, here is the link. Again, thanks to all!!!

Sorry to hear that, too much of this is going around.

I have 3 daughters, my oldest is a UConn Nursing Grad. She is now an Oncology nurse at Hackensack Medical Center, giving back to others.

Stinger, you should be beaming with pride. Your daughter was raised well.

Unfortunately, when my name appeared in the DC way back when.....family, not so proud.

Props to your daughter. She's just over 50 bucks from her goal. Mines in.... Pour in the donations, 'yarders!

Uplifting story, was happy to donate and she's now over 100% of her goal. I laughed about the Italian vs Sicilian thing. Somehow my Sicilian grandmother married a northern Italian........that was one explosive combination. Mixed like olive oil and water.

Was in Sicliy last summer for a day - beautiful part of the world.
