AAC landing a big-time prospect...AAC may turn out to be better than most expect. Any thoughts?

assuming Tyus Jones goes to Duke, if UK doesn't land Ullis where do they turn to? I'd hate to see them creep into the Snider sweepstakes.

Me too but they probably will considering he's so close. UK recruits might be weary of Big Blue since it seems one recruiting class either goes pro after the first season, gets forced to transfer, or never sees the court.

They very well might creep in with Snider. Ullis is a toss up between MSU and UK. Tyus Jones seems like a done deal to Duke.

Maybe Harrison stays?

.-.
The crazy thing about this is there are SMU and PC fans on their Abu thread ripping against UConn's competition, and specifically mentioning SMU. The nutty thing about this is these schools (NC St and PC) are dying to land top recruits, and celebrating when they hit on one (like Lindsey) but they've done nothing at all in many years (just like SMU). Yet, SMU has landed more top 10 studs in the last 2 years than both of those schools combined.

The AAC with the Houston kids, Mudiay, Frazier, maybe Turner, Purvis, Hamilton, etc., has a lot of top drawer talent coming in.

This is my thing, if it ever does get to that point does where a schollie gets offered, if your in Snider's position you have to keep in mind the possibility of getting recruited over or just getting tossed to the side. We saw it with Willie Kemp during Cal's Memphis days when Rose and then Evans slid in ahead of him when he was a highly regarded prospect in his own right, then we saw it with Harrow when he knew he only had a year to show out before Harrison came into town.

That has to creep into some recruits minds. That whole 2012 UK class minus Noel basically was used to fill a void. I doubt the Harrison's stay for another year unless they trainwreck this season. I still feel like Rashad Vaughn is going to commit to the Squid, but he plays more of a SG...

Then maybe Malik Newman or James Young takes the 2014 recruit's spot at the 2/3? Who knows its a mess.

So SMU also offered his brother that plays at JUCO Western TX College a scholarship, here are his stats, lol

gppts/gfg %3pt %ft %reb/ga/g
19 3.5 33.8 17.6 54.8 3.4 1.2

I know this is how college basketball operates, but cmon

Love that UK gets snubbed here, and a big commitment for SMU and the AAC.

SMU might actually have a top 25 team in 2014. They have a top 5 recruit in Mudiay at PG, a top 100 SG from 2013, and a 4 star C (92 rating) from 2012. Not bad.

How about Top 25 in the polls this year 2013-14?

That's nothing. He made Manning's father a coach.

Any more quality recruits like this for the AAC and Free's head will blow up. :)

It'll be interesting to see what Larry Brown can do.....if he sticks around.

It's a double edge sword to have UConn's conference mates do well.

The positive is better seeding if UConn does well. It also will support recruiting. And the contract with ESPN is short so any development bb and football wise in the AAC is helpful for future monies. Furthermore the P5 conferences would have more limitations.

On the negative is that any success by conference mates could be a negative in CR for UConn.

But I'd take my chances that UConn will make the right moves and be in position for a good landing somewhere else or the AAC will prove to always be a thorn in the side of the big boys and UConn will lead the way to sticking it to them.

This year and next. After his sons Soph year at SMU he is gone. Next year will be a potential Final4 run for SMU. This year they are sleepers with potential to bust brackets.

mods, have your way with my name. every mod has a week until the end of september to change my name to whatever they want. regular posters can recommend names as well

You maybe saved by the fact that spending board mojo on AAC concerns is a big waste. Save it for hangings and shooing flus.

Great for AAC!! Raising eyebrows and shocking the world. Who says our conference is irrelevant?

SMU has the financial resources to support a top notch program. I really think SMU and Houston have great program potential if things play out right.

When DHAM comes off the bench in his first game can the mods change your name again?
