Seems like he'll bring a lot of energy to the program..........

It's also just been confirmed that Hopkin's "dream restaurant is taco bell and his dream car is a Honda."
-courtesy some random WVU poster in response to Edsall taking his dream job to Coach Maryland football.

This is excellent news for other NE programs. Hopkins couldn't even land the BC gig.

LOL. In the history of sports, has the coach-in-waiting thing ever worked out? Just once?

.-.
Ollie was the coach in waiting?
Well JC thought he was but Warde Manual didn't. So since Manual didn't and he was making the ultimate decision on who would succeed JC I'd have to say it wasn't a coach-in-waiting situation.

Hopkins was quoted as saying, "I intend to continue the long and proud "pluck and grit" tradition that extends from the Helms trophies through the Melo trophy until the finally give me the job."

TCF, I love your videos but this might be the funniest response to a post ever. And it took you 1 minute. Very well done my friend. It takes everything I've got not to p^ss myself every time I see it when clicking this thread. Perfect picture, even better caption. Haha!

WHO CARES but thanks for the info

He's lucky to get his dream job, not many do. Rick Pitino got his dream job once....wait that was a....nevermind.

Hopkins is about as dynamic as a Toyota Corolla, love this for Syracuse and for Hopkins.

.-.
syracuse fans seem to think he'll have the consistency that we had with KO, but I see him more of the bill guthridge type during UNC's transition, he'll fail eventually too

Bill Gutheridge coached 3 seasons; he reached the NCAAs each year, and made the Final Four twice.

He probably shouldn't have made the tournament in 2000--but that team got hot and made the Final Four regardless.

Syracuse makes the Final Four once a decade (1975, 1987, 1996, 2003, 2013), so Gutheridge would be a huge step up.

Now it's his dream job that's funny. He's been trying to get out of that *hole town for years, no one wants to live in West NY.

but in the end, guthridge was exposed, he had talent, but UNC was never the program it was for many years after dean smith retired, then matt doherty managed to drag the program down further, if that was even possible, my point is that I don't believe hopkins is the guy to keep the program going, they should have waited.

My point is that Gutheridge accomplished in 3 years what it typically takes Syracuse two decades to accomplish.

But, yeah, I do take your point. More commenting on Syracuse than trying to suggest you were wrong.
