OT: Men on to FINAL FOUR! [merged thread]

Just an unreal run by the men. So far beat the 2,3 and 4 seeds in their bracket. MSU had just beaten the 1 seed in their bracket. So proud of that team. Ollie has been sensational as a choice for the HC spot. The women should be so lucky when Geno finally retires (like in 20 years...!)...

If we take care of business tomorrow, that will make dual Final Fours in 3 of the last 6 years.

Over that period, it has only been done one other time (Louisville last year).
 
Wow! The men do a great job of playing to their strengths and winning tough games. Florida looks like the team to beat, but if we're in the Final Four, we had might as well win 2 more.
 
Over the course of the tourney, the men's team has shot 89% from the line (81/92) if I did my math right. How often is it that Geno's team can look on with envy at the men's team free throw shooting? Just amazing consistency.

With today's victory, the perfect replacement for Coach Auriemma came to mind. Hopefully, the women will be as lucky and will enjoy continued success.

The Mens team has shown the importance of making Free Throws. The only reason they're going to the Final Four is because of their Free Throw Shooting. Team has made 81 of 92 in the four games played. They missed 6 in the Villanova game, 5 total in the other three games. They made 21 of 22 today. Great Free Throw shooting where so many teams have trouble making 70%

Totally unexpected run in the tournament. This is probably more unexpected then the 2011 team.
 
Sat in our clubhouse grill room watching the last two minutes and EVERYONE was pulling for the underdog. It was really cool.
 
Terrific game by the men. Poise and execution... sweet victory. Huge credit to Coach KO... first shot at the dance and he's in the final 4. I wonder how many Head Coaches can say that?!?!

Kevin O. has to be the coach of the year if voting happened now. I know Florida hasn't lost since December 2nd (at Storrs) and Wichita st had an undefeated regular season, But no other team has shown the poise down the stretch, hitting 88% of their free throws in the NCAA tournament. The best coaching job in the country this season as far as I'm concerned.
 
Always interesting to be out of state and hear how "foreign" sportscasters pronounce UConn players names. Just heard Shibizz Nahpierre. It isn't that complicated, folks. Now "show biz" might be apporopriate.

And while I understand Mosqueda may not be a common name, not sure how they miss the o as an a and say Maskodda.

I'm ecstatic at the showing of the UConn men in the NCAA's, and congratulate them on getting to the Final Four. I'm also proud of the young men who stuck around, when they had a free ticket out the door. They chose to stay and continue what they started. Kevin Ollie is the perfect person to coach this team. He's been there, done that, and is not only an ambassador for UConn basketball, but UConn, the University. He always calls his guys student/athletes. I like that.
