I didn’t see any other spot on a board discussing this so feel free to move it if there’s a better place.

The #17 men’s team beat #6 Maine last night 4-2 on 4 goals from Joey Muldowney. They’re in position right now to make the men’s tourney for the first time. Really scrappy team. They lead the nation with 7 shorthanded goals. Good goaltending. And they have two XL games coming up soon.

I think it's awesome UConn has recruited little people. Apparently it's a great move, seeing as though they're ranked #17.

We need to plan a Boneyard "fill the rink" event for an upcoming home game. Anyone interested, pick a game, and reply with numbers.

a win today may give the men's hockey team a higher ranking (pairwise) than the MBB or WBB!!!
Please explain "pairwise" for the folks back home.

I appreciate the posting. Stopped following the hockey team last year, seemed like they would forever be in purgatory. Glad to see they may have turned the corner.

I have no idea why some could see this board, but others could. I didn't see this board until I checked it out.

Weird.

Well, we certainly discussed it on the Hockey board, which for some strange reason moved into the off topic boards this morning.

The conference champions get a bye into the national tournament of 16 and they essentially backfill the remaining spots by referencing the pairwise ranking. You probably want to be inside the top 12 or 13 In the event of a few conference champions upsets where seats are stolen.
Uconn is positioned where if they go .500 the rest of the way tbey probably make it considering how dominant the Hockey East is tbis year.
Team is loaded with freshmen and sophomores and is playing better team hockey than they likely ever have since joining the Hockey East.
If you jumped off the bus you may want to climb back on for these upcoming XL games in February.

Maybe there are a couple non a hole posters who dont go there that might be interested to learn the hockey team is on a good run. I used to love this board but now it basically sucks. End of rant. I will stop posting and visiting now and you can torch me.
Come back and keep posting. We need you.

Huh?

This thread began on the Men's Basketball forum to let UConn fans who may not be fully aware of the hockey program know that good things are going on with the hockey team. Someone (a moderator) decided to move the thread to the hockey forum.
