Men OT: MCWS Action

Come on Wright St don't let me down.
They didn’t!!
Game was tight in the ninth once the bullpen entered. Good thing for Wright State that there was a ground rule double rather than a ball hitting off the wall. Congratulations to Wright State and their starter Griffen Paige.

Let’s go NC, Murray State, Wake and Little Rock. Especially, Murray State and Little Rock. Send some more SEC teams to summer ball.

The “SEC on a baseball pedestal above all” has certainly been debunked…..at least until next year when it happens again.
They were so smug on their selection show. Serves them right. Forget them all.

The issue is they didn't get in 15 teams. I don't think Missouri deserved to get in :)

Even if Little Rock loses to LSU tonight, it is quite humorous that the 26-33 team that was 8-16 in their conference goes to Baton Rouge and beats LSU 10-4 last night. Little Rock was 1-13 to end the regular season. Then won 5 straight to win their conference title. Now they have won 3 of 4 in the regionals. A pretty amazing story. Even after their run thru the conference tournament their RPI was 210.

Ole Miss made it interesting scoring three runs in the eighth but struck out twice looking and flied out in the ninth to end their season 12-11 to Murray State.

Will wake up tomorrow to see if Little Rock continues the SEC embarrassment

SEC
13 teams in
8 hosts
6 of the top 7 seeds
Only 3 or 4 if LSU wins even make it out of the first round

Late game: Little Rock still fighting LSU down 7-6 top 9. But also fighting 2 different strike zones the entire game. Home field is real.

SEC can do no better than have 2 teams in CWS with one automatic due to TN/Arkansas winner. And then LSU/WV winner.

Super conferences have killed college sports. Like in basketball, tons of baseball teams in the SEC got rewarded simply for being in a conference with 2-3 elite teams. We clearly belong but can't get the resume playing in our league. Also leads to the UConn women getting a 2 seed when they beat the 1 seeds by a combined 60 points.
