With his call up to the Red Sox last night, that makes 4 UConn players currently on MLB rosters. It's great to see the other sports keeping the brand alive and highly visible during the off season. Proud as always to be a Husky alum.

It's just sad his father Marvin wasn't around to see it happen.

An admirable job in his first action with two strikeouts in three scoreless innings of relief against Baltimore.

Are OIt's vision issues really behind him? He's cruising along at a smooth .150 BA.

OLt hit over .300 in the minors this year after having been sent down. It's big league pitching that is the problem

Barnes was great last night, filthy stuff. The question will be if that stuff holds up over a 7 inning start versus a 3 inning relief appearance.

It's problem is/was he's very prone to strike out. Those guys always take the longest to adjust to MLB pitching.

Luckily Springer has adjusted very well. He could be a great player if his defense improves.

Springer's defense is fine. He made a fair number of highlight reel catches before going on the DL (crashing into the wall to make a catch contributed to his DL stint). Just got off to a bad start with the yips his first month - overthrowing people and fumbling around trying to pick up the ball at the wall.

Mike Olt is the freaking man. He needs to play everyday. We've got a good thread about all the UCONN huskies in the BIGS (I know it tends to get overlooked a lot)
