We'll the warriors are better then the lakers, so he's clearly gone

I knew it was going to happen but it's ridiculous. Three seasons coaching the Warriors and they improved their record each season making the playoffs the last two seasons. Golden State made the playoffs once in the 17 seasons before Jackson was hired, they almost beat the Clippers in game 7 without having Bogut's services the whole series.

It's not about the games. He and Lacob don't get along and that organization is a mess internally. Lacob is a difficult guy to work for.

Ollie would fit that team like a glove.

No Cal is no place for a preaching Christian like Jackson. Management saw his preaching as a ticking time bomb and was looking for an excuse to fire him. Jackson had zero support from the organization.

Best season in over 20 years and first time in 20 years that they've made playoffs in consecutive seasons.

This was entirely based on off the court tension between management and coach.

No shart, this firing clearly shows ownership is clueless. Mark Jackson's players absolutely loved him and played hard for him, Steph Curry is going to be gone in the future and the Warriors will go back to sucking, it's too bad because they were probably the most fun team to watch in the league.

Perfect set of facts (2 successful seasons in spite of key injuries and coach is history) to help discourage any successful and well paid college coach from thinking of "jumping" to the NBA.

Frank Isola tweeted that the Warriors owner wants Kerr, I'm not saying Kerr won't be good because who knew Hornacek would be as impressive as he was but with a team already built to at least win a playoff series in the West like the Warriors I would be a lil apprehensive about handing that over to a guy who has never coached before. If I'm the Warriors I'm going after SVG.

Jackson's issues with management had zero to do with religion. He's got probably the most devout roster in the league. There were no issues there.

This is when St. John's needs to open their checkbook. I think he could be like Ollie in many ways.

I've got lot of respect for him.

St. John's? Jackson is probably up for the Knicks job.

Yeah I think Jackson got a good taste of the NBA and was pretty successful, he can get another good NBA job (0-12 mos) and he's been working that league since he left St. John's in the 8o's. Simmons and Ric Bucher had a pretty good podcast discussion about the GState ownership problems

WTF and this is why the general sports fan doesn't like the NBA because of managerial decisions like this.

Really? This is the reason that people don't like the NBA?

Ridiculous firing IMO. Jackson did a phenomenal job with that franchise. He won't stay unemployed long, that's for sure.
