OT Luka

So you can be fat and out of shape and still get a max contract? What a country. :)

FWIW Dallas supposedly got rid of him because they didn't want to give a max contract to a guy they thought was an injury risk because he was fat. Who's to say other teams wouldn't think the same if he had a bad year and got injured?

He’s in line for the extension this weekend. As navery said, he was getting a max contract. He was a top 5 player at 24 being allegedly “out of shape” so you sound silly calling him fat.

One of the 50 reasons it was an awful trade is because they could have traded him for almost anyone in the league plus picks, yet they traded him STRAIGHT UP for a guy that skinny and injury prone and old. But go off.

Michael Kay and David Cone were just chatting with a guest in their booth. The camera showed them and I thought, 'who is that? He's thin and fit.' Thought he was an injured Yankee. Nope. It was Luca.
He definitely looks different.

He was fat and out of shape (for an NBA player). What's silly about that? He's admitted it by getting in better shape now. And most people who follow the NBA said he was fat. Do a Google search for "Luka Doncic fat and out of shape" and see how much comes up. You think he wasn't fat and out of shape?

He was still great. Could he have been better? I guess he thinks so since he's getting in better shape.

Because other people on the internet, i.e. the “hater report” on twitter, called him fat that makes you correct? I’d suggest not to do everything the hater report does, but that’s just a suggestion.

He may have been in less than ideal shape for nba superstardom (though he was there, so still technically wrong), but you also brought up whether he’d get a max contract, etc. so yeah, you sound silly just saying “he’s fat and out of shape” 50x in one post.

A random internet poster could easily call a top 5 player in the world “not in ideal basketball shape” or “could have been even better if he was in GREAT shape” and sound reasonable.

You, a random internet guy or gal, calling him fat multiple times while questioning if he’d get a max contract because he’s fat, sounds silly.

Also, getting in great shape for an upcoming season doesn’t automatically mean “he admitted he was fat and out of shape.” You just concluded that yourself, which is another issue I have with your post.

Hope this helps.

I’m not saying he was in great shape. I’m saying it’s weird to be calling a top 5 player who wasn’t in great shape but still incredible “fat and out of shape” multiple times like you REALLY wanted to say fat. That’s all. It sounds weird. Dallas (allegedly) was worried about how in shape he was, they didn’t ever say “this guy is fat.”

No more hookah doncic…he looks great!

Listen to the Zach Lowe podcast from yesterday - he’s talking about Luka with a Dallas writer who says he’s almost always in shape start of year and he got injured and that derailed him. No one calls him fat, no one with credibility anyway.

Realized I screwed it up only after reading like 10 replies.

Was originally a little embarrassed until I remembered that screwing up players names on the Boneyard is almost de rigueur.

All good - you weren’t the only one.

If Lowe said that he's wrong. Luka almost always comes into the season out of shape and plays his way into shape. It's why his transformation now is so newsworthy.

I hate to tell you this, but you sound silly sticking up for Doncic. Are you related to him? Lol

I think I know what you look like without even knowing you.

What a truly bizarre topic to spill this much virtual ink on. Hope you feel better after that.

The fat talk is funny if you forget he led a mid team to the Finals a year before he was traded
Nobody has said he isn't one of the few best players in the NBA. He is the betting preseason favorite for MVP just about every year.

No, Cato a Dallas writer said it. I’d take his word over yours.

They both said the injury probably is the reason he was more out of shape last year than normal, and that it’s possible the injury would have made him make these offseason adjustments anyways.

But I don’t want to offend @BigErnMcCracken by giving you more info, or “virtual ink” as he so eloquently described it.

You’re not funny or smart. And I dno what you look like, but it’s not like me.

I’m not really defending Luka so much as pointing out how dumb you sound.

It’s bizarre to have an opinion more than 5 useless words like you always do? When you’ve had an opinion on anything it’s just someone else’s opinion.

Good for Luka! I’d love to see him thrive and help deliver a sendoff championship for Lebron. That would be epic.

Edit: btw this is probably what all the movers and dealers in the NBA would love to see as well lol

Well then Cato is wrong. Luka has shown up out of shape throughout his career and had to play his way into shape early in the seasons. It's well known, it's weird you keep digging in on this when everyone knows you're wrong.

He probably would have won at least one if he was in better shape. :)

Bet Dallas wishes he committed to this a little sooner. I watched some early clips when he first came into the league and he was so much quicker. He could even defend.
They got cooper flagg in an under the table deal, I don't think they're upset
