Friends and I had front row seats at a Lou Reed concert back in the day. It was in Providence, RI at the old Strand Theatre. The opening act was none other than Bruce Springstein, sans E Street Band,
sitting on a stool with an acoustic guitar and 2 mics! Fabulous!

I was never a real fan, but it's certainly easy to see the influence he had on generations of musicians. His death is a real loss for American music.

Wow, sad news.

Walk on the Wild Side is my all-time favorite song.

That sax solo is something.

Glad to see other Lou Reed fans around. I always wanted to see him live. He will be missed.

A colleague at work was a member of Lou Reed's high school band. Lou continued in music; Richard went on to be a sociologist. I accompanied him to a Lou Reed concert in the old Passaic Theater in north Jersey in the 70's. Lou was really ticked at the crowd that was so rowdy he could hardly be heard.
