Nick Cafardo suddenly died of an embolism yesterday in Ft. Myers while covering the Red Sox...on his day off.
The Globe has a great sport section on Sunday and one of the features is a Baseball Notes page.
That began with Peter Gammons writing it....Peter ...The Geno of baseball writers.
Nick took it over many years ago and hurt the brand not a bit.
Articles [unlinkable?] in the Globe today sure make it sound like Nick was a beloved presence on the baseball scene...even by writers following the dreaded Yankees.
He was just 62.
