I would like to provide an update on a long time Boneyard poster, Dudley Doright, aka Ann Miller. Ann is in the end stages of a long and valiant fight with cancer. She is currently in hospice care.

Ann should be remembered for her incredibly positive and upbeat posts supporting her beloved UConn Husky Women. Besides the Boneyard, I came to know Ann through her love of dogs, and specifically dog agility. I never met a more positive person.

For those of you long time posters who remember Ann (Dudley), and would like to post some words of consolation to Ann and her caregivers, while she is still with us, please feel free to add to this thread. Hopefully, she will have a chance to read them. I’m sure you can write much better than I can.

Hopefully, Nancy will pin this to the top.

I remember Ann's Boneyard posting career well. Hope she'll be able to watch the game Monday night and cheer the huskies on.

Given her handle, I was surprised years ago when she identified herself as female. That was before the current board's avatar gender-outing info.

For those at all curious, Dudley Do-Right was a cartoon character -- a Canadian Mountie whose cheerful good intentions and blind dumb luck enabled him to triumph over his persistent foe, Snidely Whiplash.

Somehow, that Snidely part reminds me of Boneyarders other than Dudley.

Thanks, Alum, for giving us this opportunity to send Ann our prayers and every good wish.

I first met Ann on the old AOL message boards, way back when UConn was emerging as a power and the Tennessee fans poo-pooed UConn as a flash in the pan. That meeting evolved into a solid group of us who got season tickets together and regularly got together for in season and off season gatherings, often road trips to Maine. The group broke up over time as ticket prices went up, but we have all stayed close through email and Facebook.

Ann's battle with cancer has been long and a valiant one. She is a fighter, who battles that vile disease with more positivity and humor than anyone I have ever known. She is a hero to me.

As a UConn fan, she's top notch. Always supportive, but never afraid to provide a unbiased and honest evaluation of the team, coaches and players. But always with kindness and love. So true that a cruel comment has never been made by Ann. Just honesty.

I am honored to be able to call her my friend. She is loved by many. Rest easy, Dudley. Rest easy, my friend.

All God's blessings to Ann whose posts I have always enjoyed.

I offer to her a portion of one of the great prayers of blessing.

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.

Well Dudley Do-Right wasn't the most masculine character. ;)

Prayers and best wishes to Ann. May God be with her and her family at this time.

While I have never had the pleasure of meeting you, just the fact that you would take a screen name from my favorite cartoon series is a huge plus for you. Hoping that you get some comfort from championship #8. And thanks to Icebear for saying it much better than the rest of us.

I met Ann many years ago at a Sun game... I'm so sorry to hear that! I will be at the game with a heavy heart tonight :(
