Phil Mickelson says there are "a number" of PGA Tour pros who "are loose" with marking their golf balls - Golf Digest

Yikes! Cutting through the verbiage Phil Mickelson says that several players on the PGA tour move their ball several inches forward when remarking it from the original coin position.
He is not talking about the Lexi Thompson incident... unintentionally moving the ball less than an inch...he clearly is accusing them of intentionally improving their ball position...i.e. cheating.

All players are supposed to protect the field by calling officials over to evaluate what happened and issue a penalty if deemed
appropriate. Phil apparently doesn't feel this obligation applies to him.

The Golf Channel...imo...will do its best to ignore this given
The Masters is going on.

Was amazed with how candid he was. Not sure what the intent would be for these guys other than spike marks they can't fix and try to get these out of their line but it seems crazy they would do these things while we amateurs playing on less than sweet conditions try to apply the rules at all costs. Time to call them on it.

Having said that the PGA also needs to work on allowances and changing some things, especially the call ins that result in the Lexi type of penalties - totally ridiculous. Call them on it immediately or it's over. How fair is it for the leaders to have that thrown at them a day later while the players coming from the rear or those less popular never having what they do out there seen because they're never on TV?

D.J. is out!

I was really hoping he could still go, but I'm not surprised after hearing about the injury. You've got to have your body working on all cylinders in order to compete for a win - probably not worth the potential damage he could do , just to go out and "hope" it works itself out.

Despite the US Open win, it still seems like this guy is snake bit, in a way.
