A really important singer whose work spanned many decades. He will be missed.

What a beautiful person and writer he was.

Godspeed, Leonard Cohen. Thank you. And,

Hallelujah!

“This world is full of conflicts
and full of things that cannot be reconciled.
But there are moments when we can reconcile
and embrace the whole mess,
and that’s what I mean by ‘Hallelujah.’”

There area over 300 known versions of Hallelujah and many more than that have covered it.
[HERE] is a cover that I used in one of WireChief's music threads.

A friend once read me a passage from "Beautiful Losers" that he thought was pretty good stuff. I didn't get it at all. But then, I didn't grasp a lot of things when I was sixteen. Some art requires of us a measure of maturity.

One of the most spiritual songwriters I know.

His lyrics were always multilayered. A discussion of "Hallelujah," from a book excerpt in Rolling Stone was delightful, brilliant and angst ridden struggle and a underlying tone of optimism of faith.

Others have complimented him by covers. Roberta Flack's SUZANNE is just about my favorite ballad.

Not exactly a cover because of the lyric changes but inspiring none the less.

I have seen this. Pretty cool. It must have been quite a treat for the new Mr. and Mrs.

Took a natural liking to this song for several reasons. This is him performing later in life.

It is also the song that got my attention to Miley Cyrus, wrote her off without really checking out her diversity. My bad as this girl can sing and is entertaining.
