OT Lafleur leaving Providence

Don't know how to attach a tweet but it's all over twitter. Andre Lafleur is leaving Providence to be an assistant at UNLV. Very odd career moves. starts at UConn, drops down to Providence and is now leaving the Big East for the same job at UNLV? It's just strange

Guys like LaFleur will never be lifers on a staff.

He wants to be a head guy, but I've heard for years that he interviews very poorly and doesn't get recommended for even low major openings. Calhoun tried to push him for openings and eventually wanted him to move on period. It's just not good for the program to have a guy who wants to move on ending up stuck in place on their bench.

I'm guessing that's where PC was at - AL is a good guy, but Cooley probably encouraged him to accept the UNLV interest.

If i recall correctly i think he turned down Mercer back in 2008 or 2009.
