OT: Joe Morgan now

"Morgan is among several Hall of Famers who have died this year, a list that includes Whitey Ford, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Tom Seaver and Al Kaline."

Might be macabre but your starting to get a very good team put together. I'm sure someone has a list of players who have died by year and could do some head to head match ups. I'll say this it would be tough for any year to have a better 1-3 than Seaver, Gibson and Ford.

Joe Morgan was arguably the best all around player ever. Guy could do it all, and smart as the day is long. Definitely more talented and flashy guys, but he was sound in all phases of the game and consistent.

Great player and guy. You can argue that if you want but it's a silly argument...he obviously isn't the best all around player ever.

Wow - a great sentiment

Joe Morgan was/is one of the alltime greats
As far as 2B he is in the top 5
What a competitor
RIP Mr. Morgan
Epitome of the Big Red Machine
say what? wouldn't have pointed it out if it weren't for his greatness. why are you always looking for the negative in things?

10 time all star, 5 time golden glove, 2 time mvp, 2 time world champ, and a hell of a baseball mind. There wasn't anything he couldn't do even at 5'7. Had speed, power, and an outstanding fielder when baseball had a lot of good players. Nowadays baseball is watered down.
