People have been making fun of this guy for a couple of years now because of his boneheaded plays but now he's on a real team and is getting coached up. He had one of the sickest games I've seen in a long time tonight in terms of highlight plays, there were about 10 plays he had where I just said to myself Woah. He and Andre Miller pretty much beat the Lakers in LA by themselves.

Needs some work on fundamentals, but he can make plays athletically that like 3 people in the world can make.

Gee, who does that remind me of?

Ill miss drummond!!

That offensive rebound where he reached 3 feet behind his head and then scooped it in all in one motion was sensational. Bynum has had an incredible year and McGee straight up outplayed him down the stretch.

Also he doesn't sound as dumb as you would think when interviewed.

George Karl is a great coach.
A few years ago, we were flying home from Denver and got upgraded to business class. How great is that? Well, George Karl was sitting across the aisle from me, going to Chicago (off-season). He's a great guy as well as a fine coach.

McGee is the posterboy for how being in a losing environment can affect a player. He still has a ways to go in his development(the excessive goaltends, the occasional airballed skyhook) but given how he was a nightly youtube star with dumb plays as a Wizard i'd never expect him to be a difference maker in a playoff series within the same season.

Barkley said it best last night saying that all these young players need to be on a team with at least one grizzled veteran to show them the ropes and teach them how to play the game, dress and how to conduct themselves. McGee had none of that in DC, now that he is in a good system with a great coach and teacher his career trajectory just changed drastically. He is going to be a very good player very soon.

Fantastic article on Grantland about Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler a few days ago. I thought that showed how not having a true veteran presence can kill a team (not to mention bad coaching).

Your right about that!! Hes playing very good in Denver..He always had the tools to be a good big man He is the 3rd most athletic center in the NBA (Dwight Howard,Deandre Jordan,Javele McGee) . Just the team he was on is on a trail to no where! Also look at his former teammate Nick Young, His trade to the Clippers has done wonders for his game. Washington was just a horrible franchise and McGee needed a new envelopment. I hope for the best for my boy John Wall.

He's got natural talent and I've liked the way way he's played. I'm more looking forward to what he can do next season after some time spent on a good team with good coaches.
