Kind of on topic, given the recent days of coaches saying the AAC refs have no one to be accountable to. Apologies if it's posted somewhere else, if so delete my thread. I just wanted to see what everyone thinks of this.
Starting last year, NBA flirted with refs live tweeting with fans during the finals. Apparently it was well received (not sure by whose standards...). So they are trying it again this year.
Since Cronin and Hurley are basically saying the AAC will not hold our refs accountable (they are independent contractors, not employees of the NCAA or league), would something like this help, or hurt the game? For me personally I think its all for show. If nothing else, it would certainly put heat on officials to get more calls right. However, if all we get from this live tweeting is "yes they got that call wrong" and there's no action taken post game on it, or transparent "punishment", for lack of a better word, its just a façade.
