Not that I don't think Gottlieb is an idiot for stealing a credit card while he was in college, but that really just is a dated insult at this point. It is right up there with fans of UConn opponents who kept getting on AJ Price 5 years after the laptop incident (I found that extremely annoying), or opposing fans who still like to point out the improper benefits Moore and King received during the '96 season. When can we just let this stuff go? They were all dumb things, yes (ok, the Moore and King thing wasn't really dumb), but no one got hurt and it is way in the past. I can't stand Dougie G as much as the next guy, but all I'm saying is think of something more current to insult the man about. Or just call him a and move on.

Ah, no. It's not like those examples at all. He stole. They didn't. And holding an individual responsible for his actions is a far cry from taunting a school for actions of players who left years ago, and who didn't even commit acts approaching theft when they were there in any event.

What? AJ Price certainly stole laptops. He never denied that. You're telling me you didn't find it annoying when opposing fans taunted him at every game about it once he started seeing some success on the court?
Yeah, I realize King and Moore didn't steal, so it is obviously different. The point of the comparison was to say that the insult is kind of old and just reeks of "hater" attitude. The guy was an 18 year old kid when he did it. Plenty of kids do stupid things. What's the point in getting on him about it now? He's been held responsible for his actions and paid the price.

Get your facts straight. AJ did not steal them. No one--except you and others who are ill-informed--said he did. The guy who stole them stashed them in AJ's room, and AJ panicked and lied to the police when they asked him about it; and then he and Marcus tried to facilitate a sale of them to get rid of them. Honorable? No. But not the same as stealing credit cards from classmates IMO. And in any event, 18 is not a kid.
