A debate has been raging among the pocket protector crowd as to whether the barrier was crossed as much as 10 months ago. I am amazed that this little bugger is still working and in communication after all these years. The article mentions that some millennia from now Voyager will actually get "close" to another sun. The vastness of space is truly beyond our comprehension.

Just shows that they knew how to make things back then. And you know that decades down the road there will be a big debate about whether a mission should be sent out at near light speed to retrieve old Voyager and bring the pioneer back to some Intrepid-like museum on Earth, or whether to just let it keep on sailing to infinity and beyond.
