For some reason my siblings and I grew up in the 60's pronouncing "milk" as "melk". Central Connecticut. Can't explain that one.

Coke vs another cola is a brandmame issue not language.
Companies spend millions to keep their name from becoming generic.
To my Mom every refrigerator was a Frigidaire.

My friend in Alabama pronounces Pepsi as if it has 3 syllables: pay-ep-si

But any way you slice it, Pepsi isn't a Coke. To me, Coca Cola products taste good, while Pepsi just tastes sweet and funny.
