UCONN attendance was pretty good compared to a number of other schools.

Meh, still closer to the bottom of the list, where the wannabes play. I think 10,000 is the number you'd want.

I think that's about right and realistic. 10,000 would be a statement and it is achievable if the athletic department makes it a priority.

Now alls we need to do start recruiting like GaTech and we'll be all set....

Regularly getting 10k is realistic with a few winning seasons and a culture where we expect the team to be top 25. I don't see it though until we get to the next level of excitement which would consist of a new conference affiliation. 6,500 is a great number though for a team coming of 3 bad years and mostly driven based on the sales job the new HC has done in a short amount of time.

BC had "roughly 3,000" at their game in the only mention of attendance given in one article. Syracuse had 4,000 in a dome where weather never matters. GTech had 117 (love how they report 1,500), Pitt canceled their game, but historically have horrible attendance. Duke had 4,000 coming off their best football season in 60+ years. Rutgers will probably have a good draw having the B10 excitement as would many teams in their situation. Kind of shocked to see how little support Baylor gets in a football crazed State and with the success they have had the last 5-6 years.

We had 10k at spring games before. 2005 I think. It's definitely not a stretch.

I didn't see any highlights but based on Twitter there was a big weather issue for GT. Rain of a biblical proportion from the sounds of it.

I was there with my continent, but....how do they count it anyway? I don't recall walking through turnstiles or on being counted in any way. It's gotta just be an estimate, no?

We don't get 10k to some of our hoop games in Storrs.

.-.
It really is a meaningless number. But 6,500 for UConn isn't terrible given that we won three games last season. It just shows that we aren't dead yet.

Okay. I personally counted the house. I don't know where the 6500 came from. I had 10,001. My guess is that these numbers a "self-reported."

I don't remember anyone giving us a pass for our lousy weather games.

I'm not giving anyone a pass, other than if the weather is so bad there were 13 fumbles that must be an unenjoyable atmosphere to sit in. I think the guy who wrote the article is right. Friday night is tough and people are tiring of Johnson.
