Weber kettle .... Charcoal ..... Best all around grill ever. I use it straight up for burgers and steaks, and then have a indirect insert called a " smokenator" (60 bucks) to do " low and slow" ribs (st Louis cut spare ribs, baby backs are meh) brisket and chicken....

I've competed in BBQ competitions with that setup and done better than some people with 10000 dollar rigs....

I bought a Webber charcoal grill at a tag sale last Friday - $5. It was damn close to new, but the owner was moving.

Bottom line - I just had my first steak (directions below) and it was much better than what I grilled on my old gas grill.

2" aged steak
Mushroom and pealed garlic wrapped in foil, and grilled first.
Roasted potatoes, (pre cooked a bit)

Any suggestion for grilling would be greatly appreciated.

The guys descriptive methods for using a weber are pretty much the last word on killer BBQ. And easier than you thought.
One thing most BBQ cooks skimp on or don't use at all is a digital thermometer. One for grill temperature one for meat. I have one that I stick a probe in the grill and a probe in the meat and it bluetoiths the temp to my iPhone.... Best 70 bucks I ever spent !!!! But you can get great pen thermometers (digital) for 30 bucks! th
